The butterfly-effect by Ninja

I was running through life chasing all those stars, looking for my happiness in all the wrong places. I had been told all my life that everything would get better once I finished school, once I got a good job, once I had a family of my own. I had been told that my life would be perfect once I was the very best at everything I did and accumulated so much wealth like no other had before me. For so long I had been running. It was now as I ran through a field of beautiful flowers that I stopped for a second to catch my breath and realized that all this time I hadn't been running towards these goals but from them.

Tired and exhausted I sat down in the soft grass and looked up at the clear blue sky. The sweet smelling wind caressed my cheeks. The lovely songs of birds filled my ears. A butterfly sat down on a flower next to me and whispered: "Happiness is all around us, we must only open our eyes. Joy will fill your heart once you learn how to open your eyes and see the beauty in the little things. So many people have been running through here and no one saw me, but you."
From then on I walked slowly with my eyes wide open. And let me tell you, I saw wonders, I saw miracles and I saw magic. And so will you.

No new posts at the moment

Hi guys!

There won't be any new posts at the moment because I don't have cards with stories or poems left. I also don't have time to write something for the lost cards.
It would be great if some of you could adopt a card or two and keep the blog going.

Thank you.

Birthday surprise by green_kivi

I am a designer and decorator. I once designed the anniversary celebration for an elderly woman.
It was a surprise from her children. We inflated balloons, we created a composition of flowers and made a big poster with congratulations.
She was very happy!

Wandering by Phoebe Wai

I cannot sleep at night so I play qin.
The thin curtain reflects the light moon,
wind breeze me.
A lonely goose shouts in the wild;
a bird cries in the north forest.
What would I see if I go wandering?
Worry and sadness alone.

Wolf man by Nenya (lost card)

She could hear him howl in the mountains, calling her, always calling her. Slowly she closed her eyes and exhaled. Hearing him broke her heart but she couldn't go to him, not during the full moon.
For a moment, she looked longingly at the mountains but then she turned around and walked into the tent.
The old woman across the fire watched her enter the tent and shook her head. If the young woman would think about what was good for her, she would forget the man who looked like a wolf.
But the old woman had been young once as well and she knew what it felt like to fall in love with a wolf man. If you fell in love with one of them, you could never go back and love another man.
She smiled kindly and knowingly when the young woman looked into her eyes and they sat in silence, listening to the howling of the wolves.

Tulips by PostMuse

There are tulips in the garden
There are tulips in the park
But the tulips I like best
Are the two lips in the dark.

Once upon a time by Shireya

Once upon a time there was
a man on the moon
The night was bright
and the wolf knew that soon
was the time of the night when
if he wanted to, he'd give a fright
even to the man who went where
a wolf never might
(well, maybe if he was a were)
and that was quite alright.

Somewhere Far Away by benchung

Moving forward,
In an attempt to run farther,
To the ocean, the sunset, the moonlight.
Seems like I'm escaping.
Escaping from the world.
But the universe always embraces me
Like a warm mother,
In the depth of my soul unknowingly.

Tanka by Empress Jito (satoko-k)

The Spring has passed
And the summer came again;
For the silk-white robes,
So they say, are spread to dry
On the "Mount of Heaven's Perfume".

Sit down and relax by Norway-girl

See the large ocean!
Everywhere there's life!
A dolphin here, a jelly fish there.
Can you imagine living in the deep?
Rabbit fishes might be your best friends!
Everywhere there's a place to play hide and seek-
Among the corrals and sea weed.
The sea sings its own song-
Under the sun and the stars!
"Relax, relax! Sit down and relax!"
Every wave sings the same song:
"Sit down and relax!"

Quote by Rumi (Chiara64)

Vögel ziehen weite Bögen am Himmel
aus ihrer Freiheit heraus.
Wie lernen sie das?
Sie lassen sich fallen,
und in dem Fallen
werden ihnen Flügel geschenkt.

Birds make great sky-circles of their freedom.
How do they learn it?
They fall and falling,
they're given wings.

A poem about Michael, Ally and wolf by aeronest

Michael, Michael, Michael
Lady Wolf yelling to the dark sky.
Will you listen?
Can you hear?
That's a sound from deep heart.
That's a sound from far away.
Will you think?
Can you love?
Lady Wolf misses your hug.
Lady Wolf misses your kiss.
Will you believe? Can you trust?
When the moon comes round
When the moon comes big
Ally comes wolf
Michael, Michael, Michael
Ally is a wolf.

Lights by Hellen

I feel something inside
Which could lead me to the sky
Maybe I just wanna find somewhere to hide
In this grey world, I need some lights

Really there? by Tanya Reed

When the moon is full, they play
They leap, they dance, they fly
Sparkles on the water
Moonlight in her hair
She dreams that she is with them
That she is playing there
Until once again she wakens
Were they ever really there?

Friend by Iryna

We have been living together for more than seventeen years - I and my red cat - Vasya.
I remember him when he was brought to my home for the first time. It was a fluffy nubbin, travelling around the flat.
I remember him years later, running from one room to another, playing with his toys. We were best friends.
And now he is gone. I know that he will always be with me - in my heart.

When I was a little girl by Zertz

When I was a little girl, my parents had a meadow behind their house. They rented it out to a neighbour who used it as space for his horses. I loved to watch them.
Now I'm not a little girl anymore...the house belongs to me now and my parents...they built a house on the former meadow, part of a new neighbourhood. Unfortunately no place for horses anymore.

Whale Sailing by Helen H. Moore (StellaYeh)

Would you go for a sail
On the back of a whale?
Would you sail through the ocean, so blue?

There's a lot you could see
(If the whale would agree)
It's more fun than a trip to the zoo!

So please take the chance,
if the chance you should get,
You'll get mighty wet,
But it's worth it, you bet,
Just be sure to rub on suntan lotion!

Solomon's dream by Tanya Reed

Solomon the horse had a dream.
In his secret soul, he longed to fly. In reality, he was just an old cart horse.
Day after day, he pulled a cart from his humble farm to the nearest town and back again. Year after year, all he knew was his stall, the cart and one small piece of road.
Time passed, and both he and the man who drove the cart grew older. Solomon became bowed with age and with grief as he eventually accepted that an ordinary horse is not born to fly.
Then, one morning, he woke up feeling younger than he had in years. In surprise, he unfurled and stretched the beautiful wings he had grown in the night.
Happy at last, Solomon flew, leaving his mortal body behind.

I am a boy. I love this jungle by Piyochan

I am a boy.
I am a boy raised by a wolf.
I live in this jungle.
I love this jungle.
There are many friends in this jungle.
Black hail and the bear are my friends.
I do not want to leave here.
I want to live in this jungle with my friends forever.
Even if I must go to the human world,
you are my friends forever.
I am a boy.
I love this jungle.

Bambi by PostMuse

Bambi and his friends spent lots of time playing in the woods, so it wasn't unusual when Thumper discovered Bambi had picked up a wood tick.
But a wood tick on one's butt is nothing to laugh at!
Bambi did, however, get a giggle from Flower, who thought blue posey applied to the tick might aid in removing it.

When the growing light is reaching

In this coloured world of wonders
There is nothing that we fear

Shall I add more postcard types?

Hi guys!

I hope you all had a good start into the new year.
I'm happy to say that I had many adoptions lately and I can't wait to receive the cards back. Thanks a lot for writing them. Your stories and poems are brilliant.

I wondered if I should add other postcard types? I have a stash of postcards I would like to keep for myself but they are way nicer when they are written. I have a couple of Inge Löök cards for example or a couple from my travels to Scandinavia.

Please leave a comment below if I should add other postcards as well.

Have a nice day. :)
